I made the changes in JMailQ to run on Joomla 4 Beta 1. By the time Beta 7 came around many things had changed and the codebase I had would not work. Actually the underlying email handling stuff worked fine, it was the administration end that required additional changes.


After I got all of that up and running I turned my attention to another component I use on one of my sites. The developer of the component has abandoned it but I will need to keep it going once I migrate to Joomla 4 on the sites I run. As I started this project it occurred to me I should probably document the changes I found should I need to do this again, and to also save others some time.
